I took a quick boat ride around the Eastern Great South Bay this morning before work and noticed a Bald Eagle sitting on top of a tree.  I quickly shut the motor off and let the boat quietly drift in the Eagle’s direction.  After about 5 minutes he had enough of me and took off.

After that I ran into a small raft of Greater Scaup, a diving duck that breeds in northern Canada and winters in our area and a beautiful Great Blue Heron.
