Unusually warm weather brought people to the beach in droves this week, but that doesn’t mean the conditions were ideal for our Long Island Sun Chasers. We had a few days with crystal clear skies and glaring sun, and other days when the sun struggled to break through the clouds. Thankfully, this group possesses a wealth of technical and artistic talent, and were able to work wonders with those schizophrenic skies.

To quote one of our members, Jan Shannon, “When you meet a sun chaser to chase sun, and no sun… you wander off to chase bridges!”  She was not alone in that sentiment, it seems. Bridges, towers, and piers were favorite subjects this week.  These skilled photographers played with angles and light to create some spectacular images.

Hopefully, you were able to get to the shore and enjoy the mild days and calm bays this week, but if not, we’ve got you covered!

This week’s cover photo goes to Keith Krejci who captured Thursday’s fog on Setauket Harbor.
