Seashore Dynamics Educator’s Workshop

Explore the wind, waves and sand at Fire Island National Seashore’s outdoor classroom. Discover the forces that shape the barrier island with this hands-on workshop designed to address NYS learning standards for middle and high school grades. Activities include beach profiling, mineral identification and measuring the wind and the waves. Workshop participants will receive lesson plans for use in the field and classroom settings, and a certificate upon completion. Space is limited, registration required.
