A few weeks ago I brought Marshall Brown of Save the Great South Bay and Lisa Foderaro of the New York Times on a tour of Old Inlet, the only breach created by Hurricane Sandy not immediately closed by officials in the days after the Storm.   Save the Great South Bay has taken the position that the Inlet is a gift and should be left alone. We were able so show first hand how the water quality has improved around the inlet and even caught two fish with two casts and let Lisa reel one in!  Now that four years have passed and the flooding many feared has never materialized, the debate continues whether to close it or not.
