The Old Inlet Wilderness breach carved out by Hurricane Sandy looked spectacular yesterday under clear skies and an outgoing tide.

The brown tide that was evident through most of July and early August seems to have dissipated, the incoming tide would have been even cleaner.

If you want to check this out for yourself, it is about a 1.5 mile walk west of Smith Point Beach.

These photos were taken Sunday around 10:30.
