Now that we are halfway through July, water quality on the Eastern Great South Bay seems to be holding up better than recent years. While it could still occur, the dreaded brown tide will at least be late this year. It started appearing last year in late May and June.
I checked out Old inlet on Wednesday evening during the outgoing tide when clarity is usually it’s worst. I will follow up with some underwater images and video I took over the weekend.
