I decided to head back east and stay in front of the rain and ended up at Sandspit Marina in Patchogue. The storm was moving slow enough that I was still ahead of the rain.
Around the same time, the new Fireislandandbeyond.com beach cam on top of the Davis Park Casino Bar and Restaurant captured the shelf cloud approaching from the west. This new higher quality cam, along with the new Surf Cam, provides an almost 180-degree view of the beach now.
