The powerful winds that started Sunday night continued throughout the day on Monday, leading to downed trees, airport delays and scattered power outages.  The highest wind was clocked in at 69 mph at Orient Point at around the same I arrived at Shinnecock Inlet just after sunrise to check out the surf.  Unfortunately, the waves weren’t impressive as the direction of the wind kept the biggest surf off shore.

I tried to get some regular speed video of the wind and wave action but ended up with way to much camera shake and had to resort to some slow motion.  A huge snow squall passed by to the North and East but only saw a few flurries.
