I checked with my father in law, Seth Jagger,  to see what he knew about the cars.  He immediately recognized them as most likely Model A’s, which were the primary beach buggies at the time.   Seth tells me they had no need for 4-wheel drive, just take a little air down and you were good to go!   Seth recalled removing about 50 cars, mostly old Chevy’s and Model A’s, for the Park Service in the early 60’s.  These recently exposed cars were probably already buried under the dunes at that time as Seth and his friends thought they removed everything, which means they haven’t been seen in about 60 years!  Seth was able to find some old photos of his crew removing the cars below.
