In mid January I posted a video and images of the transition zone where open water from Bellport Bay met the rest of the frozen Great South Bay directly off Howell’s Point.   If you missed that click below.

Warm ocean water flowing through the Old Inlet Wilderness Breach  made it tougher for Bellport Bay to freeze or stay frozen.

I flew my drone over the same area on Wednesday, January 17th with much better light and ended up better footage and images of the scene.  Looking straight down on the ice, some of the images look more like abstract art rather than just frozen water.
