While checking out all the flooding this morning in Bellport and Brookhaven my eyes kept getting drawn across the bay to the action on Fire Island.  Huge waves combined with winds still gusting over 30mph out of the WNW were creating huge plumes of spray clearly visible over the dunes.

After finding out my office had no internet, I had a green light to head over to Smith Point Beach to get some video and images around 11:00 a.m.  Winds at this point were still sustained over 20 mph and gusting over 30 mph resulting in some sand blasted skin.

I went back just before sunset to catch some golden hour light on the surf, those images are on pages 3 and 4.
