If you haven’t seen Long Island’s bald eagles yet around the Great South Bay, your odds just went up. There were at least five juveniles spotted in the eastern reaches of the bay in recent days.
The two immature bald eagles pictured below were photographed by Greaterfireisland.com soaring above Carmans River and the bay near Brookhaven Hamlet on Sunday.
There were another three eaglets spotted slightly to the east, near Smith Point, according to posts on the Long Island Wildlife Photography Facebook group.
