Fire Island National Seashore Awards Long-Term Concessioner to Watch Hill, Sailors Haven

Watch Hill Marina

Patchogue, NY – The National Park Service (NPS) announced today that Love Watch Hill and Sailors Haven, Inc., has been selected to operate the Watch Hill and Sailors Haven concessions at Fire Island National Seashore. The ten-year contract is slated to be finalized and begin by 2020.


The NPS solicited offers for this contract through a prospectus, which was publicly released in December 2017. The NPS convened a regional team of subject matter experts who reviewed proposals and made their selection based on criteria stated in the prospectus.


Love Watch Hill and Sailors Haven, Inc., which is owned and operated by Doug and Lee Biviano, currently runs the concessions, marina, snack bar, restaurant, camp store, and campground at Watch Hill; and the marina and snack bar at Sailors Havenunder a temporary contract and will continue to do so until the long-term contract begins. More information on the marinas and campground can be found


“We are excited that Love Watch Hill and Sailors Haven, Inc., will be the Seashore’s long-term concessionaire,” said Acting Superintendent Wendy O’Sullivan. “We look forward to continuing the temporary contract with Mr. and Mrs. Biviano and their staff.”


Watch Hill is located on the western edge of the Otis Pike Fire Island High Dune Wilderness, directly across the Great South Bay from Patchogue on Long Island. The Watch Hill Marina opened in 1967 and has 175 public slips, the majority of which accommodate between 10 and 14 foot beams and offer 120 and 208 volt service. There are 23 slips which accommodate 15 to 18 foot beams and offer 208 volt service. For more information, please visit


Sailors Haven is located adjacent to the globally rare Sunken Forest, across the Great South Bay from Sayville on Long Island. The 45-slip marina can accommodate boats with beams between 10 and 18 feet. All slips have electric and water. For more information, please visit
