The 3rd annual 5K Run for the Bay, presented by Blue Island Oysters on Saturday, was a big success with all proceeds going to benefit Save the Great South Bay and Operation Blue Earth.   345 runners participated on the course, starting and ending at Sayville Marine Park on the edge of the Great South Bay.  The video above covers most of the finish of the race.

As luck would have it, the rain stopped right around sunrise and by the time the race started at 8:00 a.m. skies cleared with a nice breeze off the bay.

The top three runners finished within 20 seconds of each other with the winning time coming at 19:26.0.   Full results here.
