After checking out the surf and fisherman on the north side of the Montauk Lighthouse, we took a short hike to the south side, with more direct exposure to the storm surf generated by distant Hurricane Dorian.  I took a few shots and video with my waterproof camera close to the surf.

I don’t know if was related to the tide or the storm but the waves were definitely increasing in size by now.

The wind was still cranking out of the northeast with gusts to around 25 mph but I decided to try a short drone flight by launching behind the bluff.   I admit the drone video is not my best but it was just too windy to get much altitude above the bluff or get closer to the point.   As I was flying the drone, a couple surfers paddled out and got some great rides.
