I had the pleasure of watching a group of mostly molting Harbor Seals hauling out on some rocks on Wednesday morning in the vicinity of Moriches Inlet. After one Seal got a prime spot, about 5 others slowly made their way up to enjoy some morning sunshine. I also photographed a pair of seals swimming and diving together. I thought they might be mating but Dr. Artie Kopelman tells me it’s a little too early in the season for that.
I apologize for the shaky video but the wind was an issue and I didn’t have a tripod.
Shots taken from a distance at 600mm and heavily cropped.
