I heard about some big bunker schools and a few whales around on Monday so I snuck out of work early and headed over to Bellport Beach with my wife around Noon. Conditions were perfect with light winds and ultra-clean water that looked tropical. I could clearly see bunker right off the beach getting harassed by bluefish or striped bass. I even caught a Bald Eagle trying but failing to steal a bunker from an Osprey over the Ocean.
I sent up the drone for a better look, unfortunately it was so bright I couldn’t focus on what was hitting the schools but it looks like a decent-sized striped bass in the first photo.
