With the usual help from Jim Botta, we have put together some of the best images from the Long Island Wildlife Photography group on the 9 pages below.

Although Winter doesn’t start for a few more weeks, we are starting to see a few early arrivals,  including the first Buffleheads, Common Eider, and Hooded Mergansers of the season.   Natalie Ann also shared a great video of some Hooded Merganser doing a courtship display on the last page.

Other notable finds included an Eared Grebe, Eurasian Wigeon, Rufous Hummingbird, and last, but not least a Pacific Slope Flycatcher seen below by Michael Gottlieb.  This little guy seems a little off course as they normally breed in the mountains and forests of the West Coast and winters in Mexico.

This week’s cover shot goes to Nancy Viscardi-Ricigliano with a beautiful Northern Screech Owl.  This will be the last Owl shot until Spring as our Moratorium is kicking in to keep pressure off nesting Owls and Snowy Owls coming down for the Winter.

If you have time, try to check out all 9 pages and have a great weekend!
