Most of those fish were short of the legal limit of 28” so we bounced around looking for bigger fish 
and made our way all the way down to Davis Park.
We made a close pass to the Fire Island and Beyond Surf and Beach Cameras located on top of the Davis Park Casino Bar and stopped for a few fish in only 6 feet of water!
By 11:30 am we were up to 3 keepers and about 65 fish. At this point it got quiet as most of the fleet around us headed for home.
We didn’t understand – why leave when it’s 50 plus degrees in December and we are fishing in long sleeve tee shirts? I knew the fishing would turn back on as soon as the tide switched.
After lunch we looked around and all of a sudden the fish and birds were everywhere and we began catching again. Bucktails and Diamond jigs were working -it was hit the bottom and you got em.
