Following up on Dr. Flagg’s report on the status of Old Inlet, I took several drone flights over the area on February 17th with some of the best conditions possible.  The bay was literally a sheet of glass, with clear skies, no wind, and incredible water clarity.  Launching from by boat from several different locations, I was able to get a great look at how the channels have shifted over the winter as sand continues to pile into the bay.  The tide was much lower than normal, exposing a lot of areas normally underwater.   I also uploaded high-resolution photos to my website, click here to see those.

We have built up a massive library of content going back to when the inlet first opened during Sandy in 2012.  Click here to review the library.
